Cancellation Letter Generator
Write a cancellation letter that also withdraws the merchant’s authority to charge your card. Pick a merchant or type one, choose the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar or the US, and copy the letter into an email. It runs in your browser and nothing you type is saved.
- Fitness First requires 30 days written notice prior to your next billing date.
- Always request a formal Cancellation Reference Number.

Generated Notice
Stop guessing which apps are still charging you.
Upload a bank statement and MyFulus lists every charge that repeats, flags the ones that went up in price or look doubled, and says where cancelling is possible. Reading a statement usually takes a few minutes, and the first few are free.

The US version quotes ROSCA and California’s automatic-renewal law. The UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar versions are plain written notices. It is a template, so check the notice period and the address with the merchant before you send it.
A dated written record
The letter states that you withdraw the merchant’s authority to charge your card or account. If charges continue, that dated record is useful when you ask your card issuer to dispute them; the issuer makes the decision.
Ready to send
Includes a pre-filled support email for the merchants we list, a mailto link, copy-to-clipboard, and .txt and PDF downloads.
Frequently asked questions
Does emailing a cancellation letter actually cancel my membership?
It records that you gave notice, and when. Whether it ends the contract depends on what you signed: many gyms and telecoms require a particular method (a form, a branch visit, a set notice period), and a letter does not override that. Check your contract, send the letter in a way that leaves a record, and ask for written confirmation.
What does withdrawing card-billing authority do?
Many recurring charges are taken under a standing card authorisation. Telling the merchant in writing that you withdraw it gives you a dated record of when you stopped consenting, which is what your card issuer will ask about if you dispute a later charge. The issuer decides the dispute, and card networks and issuers have different rules, so contacting your issuer directly to stop the payment is often the faster route.
What if my contract has a notice period?
The letter states that the cancellation takes effect immediately and does not override a notice period in your contract. If you agreed to one, expect to be billed through it, and edit the wording before you send to name the date you want the cancellation to take effect. The panel shows the notice period we know of for some merchants; confirm it on their website.
Which laws does the letter cite?
The US version quotes the Restore Online Shoppers' Confidence Act (ROSCA, 15 U.S.C. § 8403), which makes it unlawful to charge for a negative-option subscription without a simple way to stop the charges, and California's automatic-renewal law (Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 17602). Many other US states have their own automatic-renewal laws, which differ. The UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar versions are plain written notices with no statute quoted. The FTC's 2024 "Click-to-Cancel" rule was vacated by a federal appeals court in July 2025, so it is not cited.
