Everything you need to know about exporting statements from your bank, handling encrypted documents safely, and understanding how our financial analysis engine categorizes your ledger.

How MyFulus Works Without Bank Passwords

Traditional financial apps connect directly to your bank account using screen-scraping aggregators. This requires you to enter your online banking username, password, and 2FA tokens into third-party software.

MyFulus completely decouples analysis from credentials. You export the standard PDF or CSV e-statement your bank already generates each month, and upload that file directly. We parse the document structure, validate the ledger lines, and present your cash flow briefing — your bank password remains in your own hands.

Frequently Asked Technical Questions

Detailed answers to common questions about document formats, verification, and allowances:

Why do I need to upload 2 or 3 months of statements instead of just one?

A subscription is defined by recurrence on a clock. A single month shows an isolated charge; it cannot prove whether that charge repeats every 30 days or was a one-time purchase. Uploading two or three consecutive months allows the hunter algorithm to verify the cadence interval and confirm the recurring subscription.

Why don't camera photos or scans of paper statements work?

MyFulus relies on native digital PDF and CSV files that contain an underlying text and tabular structure. A camera photo or flat image scan contains pixels rather than characters, which introduces OCR hallucination risks on decimal points and ledger figures. Downloading the official digital e-statement from your bank ensures 100% mathematical precision.

How does MyFulus verify the AI didn't hallucinate a number?

Every transaction line extracted is verified against printed summary totals on the statement itself. If the sum of extracted debits or credits does not reconcile with the bank's own printed opening/closing balances, the system flags the statement for user review rather than recording unverified figures.

What happens to my document password after uploading a locked statement?

The password you provide is used in-memory to unlock the PDF stream temporarily for text extraction. It is never persisted in our database, never recorded in server access logs, and is completely discarded the moment extraction finishes.

Need help with a specific bank statement?

MyFulus is built and operated by Amman Abbasi. If a statement from your bank fails to parse, or if a currency total looks incorrect, send an email directly — it reaches a person who can inspect the parser, not a generic chatbot.
