Bank statement PDF to Zoho Books

Zoho Books imports statements as CSV, TSV, OFX, QIF and other formats, and imports PDFs only from a list of named banks. For any other bank, including password-locked Gulf statements, convert the PDF here first.

Never saved: your file is read in memory, not written to disk or a database, and the converted lines are deleted after 60 minutes — or as soon as you press Delete.

What the Zoho Books file contains

Six columns: Date, Description, Withdrawals, Deposits, Payee, Reference Number. Money out is under Withdrawals and money in under Deposits, which is the Double Column layout, one of the three amount layouts Zoho Books' importer offers. Payee and Reference Number are left empty.

Importing it into Zoho Books

  1. Convert your statement above and press Zoho Books to download the CSV.
  2. In Zoho Books, go to Banking, select the bank or credit account, click the gear icon in the top right corner and choose Import Statement.
  3. Upload the file, choose Double Column as the amount column type, and match the remaining columns.

How the conversion is checked

Most statements print a running balance beside each line, an opening and a closing balance, or totals for the period. Every converted line has to agree with them exactly. If they agree, you see that it was checked; if they do not, you see which lines to compare with your statement, on screen and in the Excel file. If a statement prints none of them, you are told it could not be checked. See an example.

Quick answers

Zoho Books can import PDFs already. Why convert first?

Zoho's own help page says its PDF import is limited to a list of named banks and card providers. MyFulus reads a statement from any bank, opens password-locked PDFs, and checks the lines against the statement's balances before you import them.

Which encoding should I choose?

UTF-8, which is what the file uses, and it keeps Arabic descriptions intact.

Is anything kept after I download the file?

No. The statement is read in memory and never saved, and the converted lines are deleted after 60 minutes, or as soon as you press Delete.
